Workshop registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Most classes are limited to 12 students or fewer, with some classes up to 15 students, so enroll early to guarantee your space.
Workshop fees are listed in each workshop description, and must be paid in full at the time of registration in order to guarantee your space. If you are paying by check, please send payment within one week of enrolling. We cannot guarantee your space until FULL payment is received.
When the class is full and a student requests to be put on the wait list, we will accommodate requests in the order they were received. (Please note: your phone number must be included with all waitlist requests.)
When a space opens up, our procedure is to send an email asking the first person on the list if they are still interested; if they are, we will send an invoice. If the invoice is not paid within a 24-hour period, we will move to the next person on the waitlist. All classes must be paid in full before attending.
Student Workshop Cancellations
If for any reason you decide to cancel, fees for all workshops are non-refundable, unless we are able to fill your space from the waitlist. There will be a $20 administrative fee deducted from any refunds given.
We will make every effort to fill your space if you need to cancel, but we cannot guarantee that we will be able to do so.
Detroit Fiber Works is not responsible for providing make-up classes or issuing refunds, credits, or transfers for workshops missed as a result of illness, emergency, or any other events beyond our control.
If a workshop is cancelled by Detroit Fiber Works, your tuition will be refunded in full by the method paid. Workshops have minimum enrollment requirements, and if these are not met, we reserve the right to cancel workshops with 48 hours notice.
In the unlikely event of a workshop cancellation, Detroit Fiber Works will refund your workshop fee, but cannot refund any travel/lodging related expenses; the return of the workshop fee is the limit of our liability. Expenses incurred in preparation for the trip by participant (e.g. non-refundable airline tickets) are not our responsibility. Your payment for the workshop indicates your agreement to the foregoing terms and that you would not hold Detroit Fiber Works, the workshop host, responsible for any injury, illness, loss or damages, both physical and monetary, prior to or during the workshop.
